Xiaomi has done great damage to its competitors, releasing many very cheap smartphones almost every month at a relentless pace.
Εwhether it releases a genuine Xiaomi device or a device through the Redmi memo, it seems that every month we talk about one or more new Xiaomi devices.
Samsung seems to have finally noticed that this strategy worked very well for Xiaomi in places like India, and is starting to copy its strategy.
Ranjiv Singh, marketing manager of Samsung India, recently revealed to The Economicical Times , that Samsung will release a Galaxy A series device every month, from now until June 2019. The Galaxy A series is Samsung's cheapest device, and the Galaxy J series will be discontinued.
It is possible that some of these upcoming Galaxy A devices will launch in countries outside India, but for now India is the country that Samsung will initially focus on.
Singh says Samsung's goal is to bring in $ 4 billion in revenue from the Galaxy A line this year.
The other cheap line of Samsung smartphones is the Galaxy M series, which differs slightly from the Galaxy A line, as you can only buy M devices online. Galaxy A devices will be available in physical stores as well as in online stores.
Galaxy A devices will vary widely in price, ranging from 10.000 Indian rupees (~ $ 140) to 50.000 Indian rupees (~ 700 $). And there will probably be at least one device supported by Android Go.
