The Redmi Note 7 has just been introduced two days ago , but the official announcement lacked a reference to an important feature - that the device has some kind of waterproofing. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed this today on Weibo.
Αstates in its message that the team of engineers made a great effort to design sealed seals on all the weak points of the device - the SIM card port, the USB-C port, the 3,5 mm audio jack, the same goes and for the keys and the camera, as there are special protective films around them. In addition, there is a membrane on the loudspeaker.
Despite the low price of the device, Lei Jun says that it has passed the same quality tests as Xiaomi's flagship models. To prove it, the company extends the standard 12-month to 18-month warranty period in China.
Of course, the Redmi Note 7 is not IP certified, but most likely the device will survive a few splashes, random drops of water and in everyday use, in a moderately dusty environment. Of course, we hope that it will be released outside China soon.
