Xiaomi will also supply the next RedMi Smartphones with fast charging capability at 100W, while the China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology sets limits on wireless charging.

Η Xiaomi as it is known, managed to become the Smartphone manufacturer that provides the fastest charging technology to its devices.

Right now, Xiaomi has up to 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging on some of its Smartphones, however, the maximum charging power provided to its smartphones Redmi have stayed in 67w.

But that is about to change, as the popular Leakster reports on Weibo. Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi will also supply the next RedMi Smartphones with fast charging capability at 100W.

Right now the Redmi Note 10 Pro, is Redmi's latest smartphone that was officially released last month, it supports fast charging technology in 67w.

Possibly the first RedMi device to be released soon that will surpass the 100W wired charging barrier will be the Redmi K50, for which the director of the company has already made the first reports on Weibo.

In particular, the General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, asked the fans of the company, what features they would like to see from the future Smartphones of its series Redmi K50.

In addition, at the moment the Xiaomi Smartphone with the fastest wired charging at 120W is the Black Shark 4 Pro, while in a recent post Xiaomi showed us the new technology HyperCharge, which can charge at 200W a 4000mAh battery at 100% in just 8 minutes (10% in 44 seconds and 50% in 3 minutes), while with 120W wireless charging, the same battery can charge to 100% at just 15 minutes.

This is the first time that wireless charging has broken the 100W barrier, but it seems that regulatory authority in China is concerned about the implications of this size of wireless charging, and is now trying to set some restrictions and rules.

China sets limits on wireless charging power

According to reports, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Informatics issued some "Interim Provisions»For the Management of the Wireless Charging that concerns the Power Transmission, but also for the equipment.

In this preliminary document, which has not yet been finalized, the competent Chinese Ministry gives some instructions for the production and transmission of power of wireless chargers. This document states that a wireless charger may be sold in China, only if the charging power does not exceed 50W.

As you can see, the 120w Xiaomi's wireless charging exceeds the limits set by the relevant ministry, but these may be suspended in the future, if the safe use of the technology is confirmed.

High power wireless charging can be harmful

According to the relevant Ministry of China, if the wireless charging power is too high, it may pose a security risk in some areas, such as aviation, shipping, astronomical observations and other sectors, obviously creating some kind strong interference.
