The first complaints started appearing a few months ago, but then the head of Xiaomi's global division in Indonesia reported that there were isolated cases of camera infection. He said he intends to strengthen product quality control.
After that, the number of complaints almost disappeared, but after a while, the defect returned, and with it, the flow of complaints about the build quality of the rear camera increased.
The appearance of the defect is solely the fault of Xiaomi. At the moment the issue is not reported publicly by the company as it prefers not to comment on what happened. For those who have such an issue, contact the seller to request a replacement of the defective unit.
