Xiaomi quietly launched in China the Redmi Note 12R Pro last April, a phone priced at CNY 1,800 (~$250 / €230), which is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC, but without releasing a vanilla version of the device at the same time.
But now it appeared on her website China Telecom The Redmi Notes 12R with model code 23076RA4BC, and the interesting thing is that it has a better chipset than the Pro version of the device.
Its release Redmi Notes 12R not yet officially confirmed by Xiaomi, but the codenamed SoC SM4450 that the device "wears", is expected to carry the brand "Snapdragon 4 Gen2” when later revealed by Qualcomm.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen2 allegedly made at its node Samsung at 4nm (instead of TSMC's 6nm which the 4 Gen 1 SoC has). The phone is expected to launch in configurations with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage, but there will also be a microSD slot for storage expansion.
China Telecom also revealed to us some other key specifications of the device. So we know that the Redmi Notes 12R will be equipped with large AMOLED screen at 6,79″ with analysis FHD +, and will be slightly taller than the 12R Pro which has a 6,67″ screen.
As far as cameras are concerned, the device will have one main camera at 50MP and one Macro camera - 2MP depth sensor.
The device will have dimensions 168.6 x 76.3 x 8.17mm and weight 199 grams, will be powered by one battery at 5,000mAh, but the charging speed it will support remains unknown for now. In addition to the above, the device will have a USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack.
According to China Telecom, the Redmi Notes 12R will be released in China on June 30, which could make it the first device to use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.
