Today we learned that the POCO plans to release the upcoming Redmi K40, as a Smartphone with its own name (POCO) in some markets.
Πalthough the POCO is considered a completely independent company from Xiaomi and RedMi, however its product portfolio consists mainly of clones of its branded devices Xiaomi or RedMi.
For example, the POCO F2 Pro released last year was essentially a clone of it Redmi K30 Pro, the POCO X2 his clone Redmi K30 and POCO M2 Pro a copy of Notes redmi 9 Pro. Of course all the above devices had some slight differences in their specifications, and completely different packaging.
While the company released some of its own original devices in the recent past, it seems that the POCO is not going to completely abandon the strategy of renaming and cloning its devices Xiaomi and RedMi.
So today we learned that the company plans to release the upcoming Redmi K40 as a Smartphone with its own name (POCO) in some markets.
As a recent tweet made by the member points out DEIC of XDA , a new device of POCO was recently certified by IMDA (Singapore). The list reveals that this device has the model number M2012K11AG and code name alioth.
The certification list also states that the device will have the 870 Snapdragon SoC, a main camera in 48MP, 6,67 inch screen and battery in 4.420 mAh.
In case all the above specifications sound familiar to you, it is due to the fact that in the past we had located the same device on the website of the Chinese certification authority Tena, with her name Redmi and the model number M2012K11AC.
This device is believed to be the Redmi K40 which will be officially presented to us today in China, and as you can see, both devices have the same model number, except for the last letter.
However, based on the model numbers of previous devices released by Xiaomi and Redmi, we believe that "C"Means that the devices will be released in China, while the"GMeans that they will be available in many markets outside China (Global enviroment).
Therefore, we suspect that the POCO will be released soon Redmi K40 with its own brand (Maybe as POCO F2) in selected markets outside China, and may of course come to Europe below Her Brand Name POCO and not her redmi.
