Earlier today, Redmi presented its new flagship, the Redmi K30 Pro, which is the successor of the K20 Pro and one of the fastest smartphones of its subsidiary Xiaomi.
ΩHowever, many people commented negatively on the fact that the device does not have a high refresh rate on the screen, since it remains only at 60Hz.
So, the "whining" of the company's fans was the reason for Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi, to answer and try to explain why the company made this decision.
As you may remember, last December 2019, the Redmi K30 was officially unveiled, which had a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The RedMi K30 is the basic variant of the series, while the RedMi K30 Pro is destined to be its flagship. It is no surprise, then, that the company's fans have voiced negative criticism, forcing the CEO of Redmi to respond to these criticisms during the press conference.
So he said to him Lu Weibing, the specifications of both the Redmi K30 and the K30 Pro were set about 10 months earlier. Therefore, this was not a last minute decision but rather a conscious and well thought out decision. Obviously, this decision to have the Redmi K30 Pro a normal refresh rate of 60Hz was taken so as not to impair battery life.
In other words, Redmi had to choose between the highest refresh rate on the screen or the best battery performance for the full screen of the device. And we all know now that Redmi chose the battery, stating that even if they chose the screen to have a 90Hz refresh rate, it would result in a significant increase in battery consumption.
Regardless, the company states that Redmi K30 Pro is still the flagship of the series even in the on-screen display category, as the features of the panel Samsung E3 AMOLED which has, in parallel with the touch sampling rate at 180Hz with support HDR 10 +, T certificationÜV Rheinland Global Eye Care and the striking brightness in 1200 nits, are top features that has a remarkable flagship.
What do you say? Do you agree with the company's decision and the objections it puts forward or do you have the opposite opinion?

I honestly think it made it more profitable for cost reasons. Somehow the starting price had to be low. I have not seen what difference a 60 Hz screen can have compared to 90 Hz, but again the mobile has it all and benefits like the K20 pro that broke the coffers. Personally, of course, I am more oriented towards the Mi 10 because of the screen waterfall.
