Xiaomi unveiled today in India Redmi 13C 5G – a new affordable smartphone with support for 5G networks
The device is equipped with main camera at 50 MP and has an interesting design on the back of the press starry elements. This 5G version differs from the corresponding one LTE 4G version of the Redmi 13C, both in the chipset and the camera department.
The Redmi 13C 5G has LCD screen 6.74″ with analysis HD + and refresh rate 90 Hz. The display panel does not allow the fingerprint scanner to be placed under the display, so the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power key on the right side of the device, below the volume rocker.
The device is equipped with Dimensity 6100+ SoC by Mediatek with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz the two performance cores. Device storage is either in 128 GB either in 256 GB, while RAM memory is available in three options at 4/6 or 8GB.
The Redmi 13C 5G it would be identical in design to the sibling Redmi 13C 4G LTE if it didn't have some major differences in the rear-mounted cameras. There is a complete lack of any large island for the cameras, and below the two large black circles we see that there are only two cameras. The main camera has a sensor at 50 MP with lens aperture f / 1.8, while the resolution of the second auxiliary camera is not even mentioned by Redmi in the official specification sheet of the device, so we assume that we are dealing with the classic depth sensor in 2MP.
Η Selfie camera is placed inside a water drop notch on the screen and has a sensor at 5 MP, which is a slight downgrade from the 8 MP selfie camera found on the Redmi 13C 4G LTE.
The Redmi 13C 5G is powered by a battery at 5,000 mAh which supports charging PD at 18W through the door USB-C, but the package only includes a basic charger at 10w. The phone has a dedicated microSD card slot, and can also accept two SIM cards with simultaneous support for 5G networks.
Other notable specifications of the device include 3.5 mm audio jack, the operating system MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and the screen saver with the Gorilla Glass. The phone is also resistant to water drops and dust, which is always a nice feature in phones at such an affordable price.
Pricing and availability
The Redmi 13C 5G available in India in three colors : Starlight Black, Startail Green and Startrail Silver, while regarding the price, the version with 4 / 128 GB costs INR 10,999 (~ $ 120 / € 110), the version with 6 / 128 GB is priced at INR 12,499 (~ $ 140 / € 130) and finally the version with 8 / 256 GB priced at INR 14,499 (~ $ 160 / € 150).
The sale of the device will start in India on December 16, and will be sold at mi.com, amazon.in and Xiaomi retail stores across India.
