Xiaomi launched today in India the Redmi 12 5G, which is identical to Redmi Notes 12R launched in China – except for the Selfie camera
The device is available 6,97 inch LCD screen analysis FHD + with a renewal rate of 90Hz, and is the world's first Smartphone, powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.
It has up to 8 GB RAM with an additional 8 GB of virtual memory (Virtual RAM), up to 256 GB of storage, and has a glass design on the back. The device is quite thin as it is thickness only 8.17 mm and comes with IP53 certification for resistance to dust and water drops.
The Redmi 12 5G runs it MIUI 14 based on Android 13, and the company confirmed that it will receive for 2 years of Android updates and 3 years in Google security code. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and is powered by one battery at 5000mAh with fast charging in 18w.

The Redmi 12 5G available in India in colours Moonstone Silver, Pastel Blue and Jade Black and is priced at Rs. 11,999 (~ 120 euros) for the model with 4GB + 128GB, the model with 6GB + 128GB costs Rs. 13,499 (~ 140 euros) and the top model with 8GB + 256GB costs Rs. 15,499 (~ 160 euros).
The device will be available from Amazon.in, but also from mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores in India from August 4.
