A teaser which just appeared on the Indian e-commerce site Flipkart, confirms that Realme 5s will be released in India on 20 November.
H Realme is growing at an unprecedented rate due to the high demand it has in the Indian market.
According to the research company Counterpoint, RealMe managed to grow eight times in the quarter of 2019 compared to last year, and ranked seventh in total shipments for that quarter.
Η RealMe recently released the flagship Realme X2 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 855+, has quad-camera with 64MP main sensor and a telephoto lens. It has a screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz, and has a starting price of less than $ 400. The Realme X2 Pro will go on sale in India next week, and with that, the company will release another device - the Realme 5s - which has a quad camera with the main sensor at 48MP.
Externally Realme 5S looks like Realme 5, which was released in India last August. A teaser that just appeared on the Indian e-commerce site Flipkart, confirms that the Realme 5s will be released in India on November 20, the same event as Realme X2 Pro. While the page does not reveal any details about the Realme 5s, it focuses on the quad-camera layout that the device will have and the 48MP sensor.
The 48MP camera seems to be the only change in the Realme 5s compared to the Realme 5, which also comes with four cameras, but has the main sensor at 12MP. It seems that Realme is copying what Xiaomi did in India with the Redmi Note 7.
If you remember, Xiaomi in China released the Redmi Note 7 with a Samsung 48MP sensor, while the RedMi Note 7 Pro came with a Sony 48MP sensor. However, the Indian version of the Redmi Note 7 was released with a 12MP camera, and Xiaomi India later released the Redmi Note 7S with a 48MP sensor from Samsung. In the case of Realme, we are not sure if they will keep the same Sony 48MP sensor from the Realme 5 Pro or use the Samsung sensor instead.
In addition to the camera upgrade, the RealMe 5s will also feature a new red color. While we can not be sure of the pricing of the device until the release date, Realme is very likely to price this smartphone under £ 9.999 (140 $ 8), in order to compete with the recently released Redmi Note XNUMX Xiaomi.
Here's a quick rundown of the Realme 5 specs. We're not sure if there will be any other upgrades besides the camera, but we'll update the article as we learn more.
