RealMe: Becoming Oppo Independent by Xiaomi's RedMi Standards?

With only one year of existence, its subsidiary Oppo, Realme has managed to become one of the most successful companies in the field and the fastest growing company in the world!

Έhas reached the top ten of the most popular brands with just two years of existence. While Realme operates quite independently of Oppo, it still shares its resources.

In the future, Realme may become a fully independent company. Thus, it will no longer be a subsidiary of Oppo, but a new independent company in the BBK group. This is exactly what OnePlus did years ago. It started as an Oppo division for international sales.

Realme like Redmi?

According to Chung Hsiang-wei, Commercial Director of Realme Taiwan, the company will "create its own ecosystems and production lines." However, this will it happens only if Realme keeps its sales at that rate. This seems to be in the plans of the BBK Group since the company came to be seventh in the world in sales. With a range of mid-range smartphones, the company has taken a step forward this year with its first VFM flagship, the X2 Pro. Packing a powerful Snapdragon 855+, a 90Hz display and a 64MP camera, the device is the top flaghip-killer of the year.

According to Chung, the brand will not affect Oppo's sales, as they are not in direct competition. It states that Oppo will go to the premium segment with the Reno series. Realme, on the other hand, will focus on the starting and middle categories. If it reminds you of something, this strategy is the same as that of the Xiaomi Group with the Mi series focusing on the premium category and the independent Redmi in the starting and middle class.

The company plans to enter the market of wearable devices as well as the release of wireless headphones. In addition, it wants to get a share of the 5G market with many smartphones coming to have support in the new network. A strange detail, the executive revealed that 60% of Oppo mobile phone owners are women while Realme has 60% men respectively.

If Realme goes independent, it will become the fourth BBK Group company alongside Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus.
