Η Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 855+ in the summer, but this is not the high-end SoC that will be integrated into the flagship smartphone in 2020. The company is expected to launch the Snapdragon 865 in response to the remaining high-end SoCs from Samsung and Huawei. Exynos 9825 and Kirin 990 respectively. Now, according to information from Japan, Qualcomm will unveil the new SoC tomorrow, Tuesday, September 24th.
As for the Snapdragon 865, it is said to be based on Samsung's 7nm EUV lithography. Other sources make it clear that the two versions of the SoC will be released, one of which will support 5G.
The SoC is expected to incorporate an ARM Cortex-A77 with high timing and three more Cortex-A77s at a lower frequency combined with four more Cortex-A55s. The system RAM will be taken over by the new LPDDR5 memories with transfer speed at 6.400Mbps.
