Η Qualcomm presented today an upgraded version of it Snapdragon 778G, with the Snapdragon 695 5G, the Snapdragon 680 4G and Snapdragon 480Plus 5G.
Τthe new mid-range SoC, called Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G, is essentially the same as its predecessor, but with enhanced CPU and GPU performance. With the Snapdragon 778G Plus, Qualcomm announces three more SoCs - the Snapdragon 695 5G, the Snapdragon 680 4G and the Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G
Like the Snapdragon 778G, the new Snapdragon 778G Plus SoC, is based on cores Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU. But the new SoC can have clock frequencies of up to 2,5 GHz, instead of 2,4 GHz. The SoC also has the same Adreno 642L GPU, but Qualcomm claims to offer 20% better performance beforehand. Other specifications, including AI, 5G modem, and other wireless connectivity options, ISP, etc., remain unchanged from the previous version.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G
The new Snapdragon 695 5G is one step above him Snapdragon 690 presented by Qualcomm last June. The company says that Snapdragon 695 5G offers support for both mmWave as well as for 5G sub-6GHz, and comes with up to 30% faster graphics performance and 15% improved CPU performance compared to its predecessor. Since the Snapdragon 695 5G offers mmWave 5G support, we expect to see it in the most economical 5G phones in the Snapdragon 600 series.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G
Ο Snapdragon 680 4G is a new portable platform for 4G smartphones based on their manufacturing process 6nm. The new SoC is based on cores Qualcomm Kryo 265 CPU and has the Adreno GPU 610 . It has a modem Snapdragon X11 LTE, subsystem FastConnect 6100, Spectra 246 ISP, QC3 support. The chipset is geared towards budget-friendly devices offered by FHD + monitors with a maximum refresh rate of 90 Hz.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G
As the Snapdragon 778G Plus, new Snapdragon 480 Plus is a slightly improved version of it Snapdragon 480 released earlier this year. It is still a chip made at 8 nm, and that has cores Qualcomm Kryo 460 CPU and Adeno 619 GPU, but offers better CPU and GPU performance than the previous model. The chipset is designed for all affordable 5G phones and has it Snapdragon X51 5G RF modem, has support for monitors FHD + with a maximum refresh rate 120 Hz, Spectra 345 ISP and QC4 + support.
