Counterpoint: Apple holds 18% of the global market share for Q4 2019

Η Counterpoint recently announced its report on Smarphone's global market share for the Q4 of 2019.

Σaccording to her report Counterpoint, the market share held by Apple (18%) ranks it in first place, followed by Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi and VIVO.

Her new report Counterpoint, shows that in the fourth quarter of 2019, global smartphone sales in the market increased by 2% on an annual basis - with total sales amounting to 401,1 million units.

The Middle East and Africa region experienced the largest growth this year, which ranged in 14% from year to year. Next is the Indian market, which grew by 12% from year to year. China, the world's largest smartphone market, saw a drop in sales to 10% on an annual basis, and in fact it is the eighth consecutive quarter that we have a decline in sales in China.

Η Apple, managed to have it 18% global market share, even without the availability of 5G products, with sales increasing by 10% on an annual basis, which is really remarkable.

Moving on in the market share that companies have in each region, we immediately see that the Apple, depends mainly on the North American market and the European market, conquering it 50% of the North American market, while in Europe it holds a market share of 27% a little below Samsung - although the two companies seem to have the same percentage.

Its global market share Samsung is at 18%, but its shipments Samsung in the fourth quarter of 2019 decreased by 1% on an annual basis. However, the Samsung continues to perform very well in markets other than Asia, and ranks second with 20% in North America, first with 27% in Europe, first with 34% in Latin America and first in the Middle East and Africa with a share reaching 20%.

Η Huawei (including Honor) has a market share in 14% worldwide, ranking it in third place. Although its missions Huawei in China increased by 12%, this was not able to compensate for the decline that the company had in other areas.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, Huawei's global shipments decreased by 6% on an annual basis, showing that the company has to deal with many problems after the US-made war.

Its market share Xiaomi is at 8% in the global market, with the company's shipments in China declining by 17% on an annual basis. However, Xiaomi's total shipments increased by 28% on an annual basis due to the reduced dependence of the company on the domestic market of China. As you know, Xiaomi is working very hard to enter other markets around the world, so we may soon see its rates rise dramatically in the coming months.

Η VIVO she also has a share 8% in the global market and became the fifth largest brand in the fourth quarter of 2019. This is also the first time that ViVo managed to overcome the OPPO in sales from the second quarter of 2015. The VIVO has performed very well in the Asian market, reaching 15% its market share, and is second in Asia after Huawei.

It is worth mentioning that its missions VIVO in India in the fourth quarter of 2019 increased by 132% on an annual basis, and the company's market share in India also increased by 10% in the fourth quarter of 2018, at 21% in the fourth quarter of 2019. It even surpassed Samsung, and became the second largest smartphone maker in India, with Xiaomi to continue to be at the top in this market.
