Huawei is preparing a Smartwatch with HarmonyOS, while Oppo will also enter the Smartwath market.

On the occasion of the ever-increasing demand of smartwatchesThe Oppo decided to enter this market segment with its own proposal.

ΣAccording to a recent post on Weibo by the company's VP, YirenThe Oppo plans to introduce its first smartwatch sometime next year.

Referring to more details, Yiren commented that the watch will probably come with a rectangular housing instead of a circular one, so that more information can be placed on the screen.

In addition, the company will release a pair of headphones with Opto wireless noise cancellation before the end of this year.

Huawei also wants to bring a smartwatch powered by its own HarmonyOS operating system in the near future, abandoning Google's Lite OS as well as Wear OS.

Given the shrinking market for Wear OS, Huawei believes it's the right time to try to shake things up with its new smartwatches operating system. The company believes that its own operating system will be much better than the competition it has with the proposals of Samsung and Apple in the category of smart wearables.
