According to the new report, the analysis company App Annie, consumers around the world downloaded 33 billion apps in the last quarter and spent a record $ 28 billion in the same period, up 20% from the same quarter last year. At the same time, they spent 180 billion hours each month (July, August, September) working on their applications, a number increased by 25% compared to last year.
Η App Annie notes that the pandemic COVID-19 has dramatically affected consumer behavior and practically the numbers we see today should reach them after 2-3 years based on the growth rate of the pre-coronavirus era.
In more detail, the downloads in the store Google Play increased by 10% compared to last year. Android device users downloaded 25 billion apps in the last quarter, while iOS users reached 8 billion. It is worth noting that games make up 45% on Android OS and only 30% on iOS, so users have indeed turned quite a bit to productivity and training applications.
Despite almost threefold downloads at Google Play, the App Store Apple recorded a turnover of $ 18 billion against $ 10 billion of its application store Google.
