Nova suspends its signal transmission ANT1 from our platforms after 31 July 2023 and the termination of the current partnership agreement
Η Nova categorically denies all the unsubstantiated claims made by him ANT1 in a concerted public smear attack against Nova when we refused to accept their exorbitant and unreasonable demands for three and a half times higher fees for the rights to rebroadcast free channels through our services.
Following our refusal to accept their terms, Mr ANT1 is using its national television frequency to spread a twisted narrative of false claims and statements about Nova. This is a concerted attack against Nova in a clear attempt to force a deal by abusing the national TV frequency for their own benefit. We will defend our right to negotiate fairly and freely before all relevant authorities.
Η United Group is one of the largest investors in Greece, having already invested over 1.8 billion Euros and having committed to investments 2 billion Euros until 2027, with approx 400 million Euros of which have already been invested in the 2022 and 1ο 6th month of 2023. Nova is the second largest provider in the Greek telecommunications market - in the fixed telephony and pay TV sectors - and one of the strongest arms of the United Group contributing the 33% in total revenue 2.7 billion Euros of the Group.
We remain positive on the prospect of continued negotiation and cooperation with ANT1 on reasonable and mutually agreed terms, otherwise we will be forced to we are suspending ANT1's signal from our platforms after July 31, 2023 and the termination of the current partnership agreement. THE Nova consistently puts its customers and employees first, and will not give in to pressure exerted in an unprofessional manner of this nature.
