After a series of leaks over the past few weeks, today Nothing has finally officially presented us with the NothingPhone (1)


Η device comes with frame from recycled aluminum, while above the 50% of the phone's plastic parts are made with organic or recycled materials – an industry-leading rate, the company says.

It has 6,55 inch OLED touch screen analysis in 1080 × 2400, with a renewal rate of 120 Hz, maximum brightness at 1.200 nits and touch sampling rate at 240 Hz. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and has symmetrical frames on all four sides.

It is equipped with Snapdragon 778G+ SoC from Qualcomm and comes with up to 12 GB RAM, the NothingOS based on Android 12, while the company has promised to give at least 3 updates to Android OS and 4 years of updates to Google's security code, with updates which will become available every 2 months.

The phone features a transparent back with a unique design consisting of more than 400 components.

As far as cameras are concerned, the device has dual sensors at 50MP with the sensor Sony IMX766 for the main camera, and the sensor Samsung JN1 for UltraWide camera, which also allows you to take pictures Macro. You can also set it up Glyph Interface at full brightness to illuminate nearby subjects with a soft light that won't burn out details.

Also, if you're into NFTs, you'll have one too widget on the home screen which will display the collection of NFT that you have.

The main feature of this phone is the Glyph interface, with unique light patterns consisting of 900 LED that indicate who's calling and highlight app notifications with a different color, show you battery charge status, and more.

You can also assign individual contacts to a ringtone and each to a unique lighting pattern. Function "Flip to Glyph” activates silent notifications only with illumination by placing the phone with the screen facing down.

The device is powered by one 4.500 mAh battery which supports the wired charging at 33 W (full charge in 70 minutes), the wireless charging at 15 W (full charge in 120 minutes) as well as the reverse wireless charging at 5 W.

The NothingPhone (1) is certified IP53 for resistance to water drops and dust, but unfortunately the charger is not included in the package but Nothing sells separately a charger model in 45 W with price at €35 / £35 / INR 2.499.

Prices and availability

The phone will cost Rs €469 / £399 / INR 32.999 for the version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, in €499 / £449 / INR 35.999 for the version with 8 / 256 GB and €549 / £499 / INR 38,999 for the version with 12 / 256 GB.

This latest version of the device will be available later than the other two.

You will have the opportunity to purchase the device for five days, starting on July 16 at 10 am local time at a kiosk Nothing at Covent Garden in London. Then, on July 18, there will be "limited availability of the device at partner distributors", and will be followed by the first official sale on July 21 on her website Nothing and to all partner mobile operators.

Apart from the UK, the NothingPhone (1) will be made available at Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Macau, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and UAE.

As you can see from the above list Greece is absent.
