Η Nothing released the most awaited NothingPhone (2), the company's second smartphone and the successor to the Phone (1)
The phone has OLED LTPO screen 6.7 inches FHD+ resolution with a dynamic refresh rate 1-120Hz and maximum brightness up to 1600 nits. The device is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC supported with up to 12 GB of RAM.
The new Nothing Phone (2) “runs” it NothingOS 2.0 based on Android 13, which lets you customize the home screen grid design, widget size and color themes, and has new folder layouts and illustrated covers. The company has promised up to 3 Android OS updates and 4 years of updates to Google's security code every 2 months.
The design of the back and the position of the LEDs are similar to the Nothing Phone (1), but now in the Nothing Phone (2) the central part is divided into 6 different sections and has 33 addressable LED lighting zones, compared to the 12 that Nothing Phone (1) had. There is also the Glyph Composer to create custom ringtones.
Using Glyph LED Lighting in Nothing Phone (2)
- Volume indicator : The LEDs light up accordingly as you turn the volume up or down
- Timer : The LEDs are set according to the timer countdown
- Uber and Zomato: They show you a progress bar to indicate the time left for the taxi or food to reach you
- App Notifications : You can set an app to turn on the LEDs when you receive a notification
The NothingPhone (2) features a slightly curved glass back and new slimmer mid-frame that's made from 100% recycled aluminum.
It has dual camera sensors at 50MP, with the Sony IMX890 for the main camera and the sensor Samsung's JN1 for the Ultrawide camera, which also allows you to draw and Macro photos. For the front Selfie camera we have a sensor in 32MP.
The phone is powered by one battery at 4700mAh with support for fast charging on 45w, which is capable of charging the battery up to 100% in 55 minutes. Nothing Phone (2) also features and wireless charging at 15W, but also reverse wireless charging at 5W.
