Η HMD Global has just unveiled the new Nokia 7.1 - a well-crafted mid-range device with a sleek design at an affordable price.
Nokia 7.1 is built around a PureDisplay notch panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and a diagonal of 5,84 inches. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has HDR10 support, which is rather a rare feature. In addition, the monitor can convert real-time HDR to SDR video.
The new Nokia 7.1 is powered by Qualcomm's mid-range Snapdragon 636 SoC, which combines 3 or 4GB of RAM with 32 or 64GB of internal storage, respectively. If this is not enough for you, then you can add extra storage space via microSD card.
It has an automated front camera at 8MP f / 2.0, which supports AI-enhanced face unlock, while at the back it has a 12MP camera with f / 1,8 aperture and a 5MP black and white camera. Rear cameras have Zeiss optics and many great software features, such as the "bothie" feature, which lets you take photos or record videos using both the back and front cameras.
The Nokia 7.1 is powered by a 3.060 mAh battery that supports fast charging via the USB-C port on the bottom of the device. Nokia claims that it can charge the battery to 50% in just 30 minutes.
The phone comes with Android 8.1 Oreo and is part of the Android One app. It will get an upgrade to Android 9,0 Pie in November, and will continue to receive updates for the next 2 years, and will also have monthly security updates for 3 years.
The whole device is surrounded by a glass "sandwich" and has an anodized aluminum frame. Glass makes up 85% of the entire surface. Available colors are Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel.
The device was announced today, October 5, but the actual shipments will start on October 28. In America, the device with 3GB / 32GB RAM will cost 349 dollars, while in Europe it will reach 319 €. The upgraded version with 4GB / 64GB capacity will cost around € 349.
