Six of the 20 best-selling games in 2018 have been released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo has announced that it expects to ship 38 million consoles worldwide by the second anniversary of its release in March 2019, but Bloomberg estimates that number will approach 35 million. In one year of release, from March 2017 to March 2018, about 18 million consoles were sold worldwide and Nintendo believes it can increase sales.
In an interview with the Japanese newspaper Sankei News, Nintendo President Sundaro Furukawa said that the goals are ambitious but added that the company will continue to aim high. Rumors have circulated in the market that Nintendo is preparing an upgrade of the console in the near future. However, Furukawa said the company was not preparing a Switch successor, nor was it going to drop its price.
Another element that shows the popularity of the Switch is that six of the 20 games with the most sales in 2018, were released exclusively for this console. Among them is "Super Smash Bros. "Ultimate" and "Pokemon Let's Go" which sold 5 million and 3 million copies respectively.
