We first heard about it Mi Mix Alpha in the autumn of last year, and the Xiaomi impressed us all with the amazing design of the device.
Ωhowever the price of this Smartphone Concept made it clear to all of us that if it was officially released, few would be able to obtain it.
Since then we have never had the opportunity to see a complete one HandsOn video in the hands of a user, to take a closer look at the device and understand how practical this full-screen design offers.
But now YouTuber MKBHD (Markus Brownley) created a hands-on video with Mi Mix Alpha in which you can see this original Xiaomi Smartphone in all its glory.
Its specifications Mi Mix Alpha is also impressive as it is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, 512GB storage UFS 3.0 and 12GB RAM. Unfortunately it only has battery in 4.050mAh, which may not be enough, given the size of the screen that the battery will need to power.
He also has one 108MP main camera sensor, probably the same one we saw in Xiaomi Mi Note 10.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha looks is also quite thick and heavy as it uses metal for the frame and ceramic material for the camera strip on the back of the device. All the above materials make this Smartphone weigh much more than the other flagships of the company.
With all this screen surrounding the device, adding a case to protect it from falling would be almost impossible (although Xiaomi included a case in the Mi Mix Alpha package which makes it very ugly), which also highlights concerns about the durability of the device.
So what happens if you accidentally drop your device? And what could be the practicality of such a Smartphone beyond its truly impressive design?
In this video o Markus Brownley (MKBHD), shows us that the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is something new and different in an increasingly stagnant smartphone industry. The phone is still just an idea - a Concept, and no one knows if it will actually hit the market - and how much it would cost if it were eventually released.
What do you think? Would you ever buy it if it was available at a reasonable price? Is its design practical or does it cause problems in the smooth operation of the device?
