Xiaomi is known to provide at least 3 upgrades to MIUI versions on most of its devices. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Mi Mix 3 5G, as the company's first 5G smartphone still uses the version of MIUI 10 based on Android Pie.
Πalthough the its customer support Xiaomi confirmed this Smartphone will be upgraded to MIUI 12 until the end of October, a response from one of its official Administrators Mi Community, brings bad news, as he states "there are no update plans for Mi Mix 3 5G».
Apparently, Xiaomi failed to sell a large number of its devices Mi Mix 3 5G both in Europe and in China. As a result, the company may have abandoned its plans to update the device even in MIUI 11 with Android 10 .

And the answer to that question came like a bolt from the blue: " From the information we have, there are no immediate update plans for the 5G variant. We do not know when an update might be available, so avoid asking questions about it. Any basic information about a possible update will be posted on the subforum . »
This answer, as you understand, is in stark contrast to the statement provided by customer support. Unfortunately, however, and given that this answer is newer, we believe that Xiaomi may have changed her plans for Mi Mix 3 5G. This means that the company's first 5G smartphone may never receive an upgrade to MIUI 12.
We hope all of the above is a misunderstanding, and the device is being upgraded to MIUI 12 along with the other Xiaomi Smartphones, even if it is a little longer.
