Πa few hours, h Xiaomi through one post at Twitter announced the new wireless charging technology - the My Air Charge. The revolutionary new technology aims to turn the whole house into a “wireless charger“. With this technology you can charge your device anywhere in the house. Whether you are walking, sleeping or playing games the device can charge without any socket nor does it need to some cable ή some wireless charging base.
How does the Mi Air Charge work?
This is one of the most important questions most people will ever ask. The company had to design a special charging stack which has integrated five-phase antennas. These antennas are designed to detect the location of the device. In order for the power to reach the smartphone, the Xiaomi also incorporated one phase control panel because it consists of 144 antennas. Through these antennas, they are transmitted millimeters of waves through radiation to the smartphone.
Additionally, there is one Small antenna control panel because it consists of an antenna transmitter and one receiving antenna board. The antenna transmitter aims to transmit the location of the smartphone while the receiving antenna panel undertakes the conversion of the wave signal into electricity. This is achieved thanks to a rectifier circuit which completes the entire charging system.
Is this technology safe?
This is another very important question. If we consider that at the moment the technology Xiaomi Mi Air Charge transmits only to 5W, these are not enough to cause a health problem. However, we do not know what kind of effect long-term exposure will have on such loads.
This technology supports charging multiple devices simultaneously. Each device will be charged to 5W. According to the company, the distance at which this technology works is a few meters, without giving us any exact range. It is important to note that natural barriers do not reduce the efficiency of charging and that this technology only works on smartphones for now.
