We have seen gradually more and more companies incorporating it lately fingerprint-on-display on their flagships.
Έand Xiaomi intends to integrate this technology into its midrange devices. Various references from XDA Developers, showed at least three new devices with FOD (fingerprint-on-display) technology of which, two have code names that indicate to use the operating system Android One.
It is very likely that these devices are the Xiaomi Mi A3, the Xiaomi Mi A3 Lite and a Chinese version of them.
These three devices have code names “Pyxis”, “bamboo_sprout” and “Cosmos_sprout”. The ending _sprout has appeared on devices with Android One. The other device as it does not have the _sprout suffix, may be intended as its successor Xiaomi Mi 6X (maybe the Xiaomi Mi 7X).
Now, the integration of technology is not as expensive as it used to be, and already companies like VivoThe Oppo and Samsung have incorporated it into their latest midrange devices. This means that we may see the optical scanner below OLED screens and in the new Redmi devices very soon.
At the moment, its only devices XIAOMI who have this technology, are the flagships Mi 8, My 9 as well as the Black Shark 2.
