Αdo you like it Xiaomi Mi 8 but you hate MIUI 10, then you are probably in the right place. You can completely abandon MIUI and flash the Pixel ROM that will automatically turn the Mi 8 into a de facto Google Pixel 2 running Android 9 Pie. The Pixel ROM is so close to reality that even the Google Play Store will believe you are running one Google Pixel 2.
More specifically, a member of XDA Developers, introduced a stock Android firmware on the Xiaomi Mi 8, making only minor modifications required due to the notch. Except for these minor tweaks, the Pixel ROM is almost identical to the software running Google Pixel 2 or Google Pixel 2 XL. The firmware for Pixel ROM is based on Android-9.0.0_r8 AOSP tag (PPR2.180905.006.A1) and even includes latest and most recent Google apps from Google Pixel 2 (PPR2.180905.005).
You can even download it Digital Wellbeing which is currently only available on Pixels. You need to know two things. That although NFC works, Google Pay and not that there are no customization features, but only stock Pixel 2 software.
You can find the ROM theme here and flash on your device.
