The Machinima was for 13 years one of the most popular gaming channels in YouTube with more than 12 million subscribers.
Χwe use past tense because in one night the channel turned all the videos into private mode and it was essentially turned off! The channel was acquired by Warner Bros. in 2016, which in turn was acquired by telecommunications provider AT&T in 2018.
Machinima went straight to AT&T's Fullscreen network, managed by Other Media. We expected at least one explanation from her for the sudden closure of the channel, but her announcement is a bit strange:
"We continue to work with the Machinima team to create new content that will be distributed through our new channels in the coming months."
The sudden withdrawal of all the videos from the rest of its channels is still a question Machinima, such as Happy Hour, Respawn, Realm, Prime and Inside Gaming. The moment, however, that they have just entered private mode leaves a window open for their possible return, perhaps through a new Otter Media channel.
