Η Bitdefender has found 17 new applications in Google Play who have adware, and if you have any of them, you should delete them immediately from your device.
ΜOnce these applications are installed, they begin to hide their presence on the user's device and start displaying constantly aggressive ads. Although they do not contain malware other than Adware, the tactics they use to sneak into Google Play and evade Google's control system are the same as applications traditionally associated with malware.
Some malicious applications are designed to gain access to the device, regardless of the rights granted by the user, and to steal users' data. Other applications, such as those now discovered by Bitdefender, display ads on the system.
There are a total of 17 applications discovered by the security company, which have a total of 550.000 installations on Google Play.
Although they are not particularly dangerous applications for the user, they are very annoying, as they constantly annoy users with Banner ads.
- These applications start displaying banner ads randomly 4 hours after installation, even when other applications are running.
- After 48 hours of installation, applications hide their icon in the application drawer, making it even more difficult to remove.
