ΣThe revelations of various details continue unabated in recent days and even from official sources for the Xiaomi Mi 9. Apparently this will continue until the phone is officially announced on Wednesday, February 20th. 
The Xiaomi CEO posted on his Weibo account, more details and render images of the Mi 9 screen and the design of the front of the upcoming device. These images focus on eight basic screen functions.
The biggest change from the design of the Xiaomi Mi 8 predecessor, is the transition to a drop notch design. The phone also has a thinner lower bezel by 40% than its predecessor. Combining the two results in a screen-to-body ratio of up to 90,7% for the Xiaomi Mi 9.
But the Mi 9 does not stop there. The AMOLED display technology of the device is FHD + (1080p) resolution and is produced by Samsung. Lei Jun says it has a state-of-the-art NTSC 103,8% color gamut and reaches 600 nits brightness. There is also a set of optimizations for different usage scenarios such as night mode and game mode.
Xiaomi also says that the Mi 9 has a second generation "sun screen" that has better color reproduction and greater brightness under strong sun and strong lighting. Below the screen, there is also a third generation ultrasonic proximity sensor which is very sensitive. The Mi 9 is covered with Corning Gorilla 6 protective glass for protection and also has an eye protection certification from the German Institute of Electrical Engineers.
Last but not least is the fifth generation in-display optical fingerprint sensor which is 25% faster than the previous generation.
