Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro: Officially made and surprising with their specifications - especially with the cameras.

Despite pressure from the US-China trade war, the Huawei continues unabated and presented us today with its new iconic Smartphones Mate 30 series, and revealed her plans for a life without Google.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro

ΤThe Huawei Mate 30 Pro has arguably the most impressive camera material of any smartphone ever released. In addition to the 40MP Super Sensing camera we saw on the P30 Pro, the device also gets an extra 40MP sensor with a super-wide-angle lens, which Huawei calls Cine Camera. Both cameras can use the 3D ToF sensor to bokeh the videos.

The third camera on the back is an 8MP sensor with 3x optical zoom (80mm focal length) and 5x hybrid zoom. For comparison, the P30 Pro has a 5x optical and 10x hybrid zoom camera. Both the Tele and the wide-angle camera have optical image stabilization.

The two 40MP sensors are both large in physical dimensions and the main camera has a 1 / 1.7 τύπου sensor and f / 1.6 aperture, while the Cine camera has a 1 / 1.54 αισθη sensor with a ratio of 3: 2 and Ultra wide angle lens with f / 1,8 aperture.

Video recording is just as impressive, as it supports 4K 60fps video capture, while the frame rates become even faster in slow motion mode, as the phone can capture video at 7.680 fps at 720p.

The device can also capture time lapse video in 4K with HDR + colors, while for video shooting in low light conditions, the camera can reach ISO 52.000.

The 32MP Selfie Selfie camera is mounted next to the new 3D scanning material. There is a special sensor that recognizes gestures, which works in conjunction with Huawei's special Da Vinci NPU processing unit. The NPU is also used for AI Auto-Rotate, which monitors your head to decide how to orient the UI instead of making accelerometer predictions.

Speaking of the Kirin 990 chipset, it is built with the 7nm + EUV process and features a powerful Mali-G76 MP16 GPU with an upgraded GPU Turbo, while a toner strip transfers heat away from the chipset to keep it cool.

The highlights of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, however, do not end here. It has a 6.5 οθόνη screen with highly curved sides at 88 °, and Huawei calls this design "Display Horizon".

The screen is OLED with a resolution of 1,176 x 2,400 px HDR and full coverage of the DCI-P3 color range. The screen has Always On function and supports the M-Pen stylus (which can detect 4.096 pressure levels).

As the screen also covers the sides of the phone, Huawei has installed a number of virtual keys - such as the volume keys up to a camera key.

The two Mate 30 smartphones use Huawei's EMUI10 operating system based on Android 10. Instead of Google Play services, Huawei has developed its own solution.

Huawei has enhanced wireless charging technology, which can now charge the 27mAh battery with 4.500W. Wired charging remains at 40W, and is better than Samsung with fast charging at 25W while Apple is only at 18W.

In terms of connectivity, Huawei boasted that the phone has a total of 21 antennas, of which 14 are dedicated to 5G. This allows the phone to support eight 5G bands (Samsung Galaxy Note10 + 5G only supports 3). There will also be a 4G version for markets that still lack state-of-the-art networks.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with 8GB of RAM and storage capacity between 128GB and 256GB. The NM card slot can help you expand it by 256GB. The Pro will be available in four colors: Black, Space Silver, Cosmic Purple and Emerald Green.

There will be a special version with vegan leather on the back, which will be released in Orange and Forest Green colors. As in the previous series, this Smartphone is water resistant, and has IP68 certification.

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro (the 4G model) will cost € 1.100 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Mate 30 Pro 5G will cost € 1.200 and will have the same memory configuration.

In a few hours, Huawei will start receiving orders for the Mate 30 Pro 4G in China, and shipments will begin on September 28.

Global availability of the device will begin in October, and we're curious to see if global markets will show a preference for a phone without Google Play services.

Huawei Mate 30

ΤThe Huawei Mate 30 is closer to the specifications of the Pro model than in the previous Huawei series, and its OLED screen is slightly larger - at 6,62 inches and considering its 1.080 x 2.340px resolution, it supports HDR10 and DCI-P3, just like the Pro.

The screen is flat and with a smaller notch (the 3D sensor is different). Note that both Mates have a built-in fingerprint reader under the screen.

The rear camera maintains the large 1 / 1.7 αισθη sensor at 40MP with RYYB color filter and f / 1.8 aperture. The 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical and 5x hybrid zoom is also available, and both cameras have OIS. On the contrary, the wide-angle sensor drops to 16MP (f / 2.2) and the Selfie camera has a sensor at 24MP.

The phone is still powered by a Kirin 990 chipset that comes in two versions 4G and 5G . Note, however, that they use two different versions of the chip - 4G is built on a 7nm process and the cores are clocked slightly lower. Also, the NPU has only one large core instead of the two we have in the PRO version.

The battery capacity is at 4.200mAh, and it also supports wired charging at 40 W, and wireless charging at 27W.

The Mate 30 is rated IP53 (water resistant).

The Huawei Mate 30 will be available in China today and worldwide from October at a price of € 800. It also has 8GB of RAM, however storage has been halved - to 128GB which can be further expanded with an NM card.

Huawei Mobile Services and AppGallery

Huawei's mobile services are fully open source and will provide the basic features you need as they used to be from Google Play Services that will no longer be available on your device. The company set up a $ 1 billion investment fund to support and develop the entire project.

Users will be able to download software from Huawei AppGallery, which already has 390 million monthly active users and served 180 billion downloads last year.

However, these Huawei services will be more than just an app store. Huawei ID will serve as your primary account for accessing an entire ecosystem.

Huawei Mobile Cloud takes over the now-defunct Google Photos and Drive feature, allowing you to sync photos as well as back up data and settings from your phone.

Huawei Video is a streaming service for movies, TV shows and documentaries (currently only available in Italy and Spain). Huawei will even have its own browser replacing Google Chrome.
