Huawei Nova 5: It became official in three versions and prices starting at 258 euros

After many leaks, teases and rumors the moment of truth has arrived. THE Huawei officially introduced the new series of Nova 5 at an event in China.

ΣIn total, the series has three devices instead of four as expected, and the basic version is equipped with the new Kirin 810.

The Huawei Nova 5 and 5 Pro have a 6,39 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1.080 × 2.340, in-diplay fingerprint scanner and waterdrop notch. Also, their screen is TUV certified and supports DCI-P3 and DC dimming.

The Huawei Nova 5 Pro is equipped with the Kirin 980 which is also available in the P30. On the other hand, the basic version, the Nova 5, has the new one Kirin 810 with two Cortex A76 clocked at 2.27 GHz and six Cortex A55 clocked at 1.8 GHz, Mali-G52 GPU and NPU.

In terms of memories the Huawei Nova 5 Pro comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage while the Nova 5 has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both devices support microSD, run EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie, and support GPU Turbo.

The Huawei Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro have a 32MP selfie camera with f / 2.0 aperture and quad rear camera. The rear camera set consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586, a 16MP superwide, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro. All devices in the series support super night mode, portrait mode, AI scene recognition and AI beautification.

In other features, both devices have a 3.500mAh battery with support for 40W fast charge, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB type-C and 3.5mm headphone port.

As for the small Huawei Nova 5i, this is its Chinese version Huawei P20 Lite (2019) released in Europe. The Huawei Nova 5i has a 6,4 inch LCD screen with a punch hole, which houses the 24MP selfie camera.

The Huawei Nova 5i is equipped with the Kirin 710, has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage via microSD and runs EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie.

The small Nova 5 series has a quad rear camera, with a 24MP basic sensor, a 16MP ultrawide, a 2MP depth sensor, and ToF. As mentioned above, the Huawei Nova 5i supports super night mode, portrait mode, AI scene recognition and AI beautification.

In the other features, the Huawei Nova 5i has a conventional fingerprint sensor on the back, 4.000mAh battery with support for only 10W charging, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB type-C and 3.5mm headphone port.

Prices and release days vary for devices. The Huawei Nova 5 Pro is already in pre-order and will be available on June 28 in four colors Dilemma Forest, Midsummer Purple, Coral Orange and Bright Black. The version with 128GB of storage costs 2.999 Yuan or about 385 euros and the larger version with 256GB is priced at 3.399 Yuan or about 435 euros.

The Huawei Nova 5 has only one version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, will be released in the same colors as the Pro except orange, and its price is set at 2.799 Yuan or about 360 euros. Pre-orders start on July 13 and the device will be released on July 20.

Finally, the Huawei Nova 5i has two versions with 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, will be available in three colors, and its price is set at 1.999 Yuan or about 258 euros for the large version and 2.199 Yuan or about 282 euros for the small. Pre-orders have already started and the device will be released on June 28.
