New Kirin 9000 SoC at 5nm and with 5G modem


The Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 9000 is the latest news high-end SoC made by TSMC before the US embargo on Huawei went into effect. The chip has a total of eight cores, four of which use architecture ARM Cortex-A55 and operate at maximum speed at 2,04Ghz.

In addition, there are three cores that use the architecture ARM Cortex-A77 and offer a maximum clock rate at 2,54Ghz. Huawei also has a fourth core Cortex-A77 with a maximum clock speed of at least 3,13Ghz, so that the overall package offers something more than sufficient performance, which will even outperform the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus with similar clock speeds.

In addition to the fast cores in the CPU, the chip also has the GPU ARM Mali-G78 for graphics but also for data processing of artificial intelligence, but also a built-in 5G modem. It Kirin 9000 It is also the first Huawei SoC to be built on a 5nm scale, offering an even smaller structure width than its predecessor.

Huawei will bring it Mate 40 Pro in Europe only in one version, which will have RAM 8GB and 256 GB of internal storage flash memory based on UFS 3.1, which however will not be expandable using a microSD card slot.

In China, however, there will be variations of the device with up to 12 GB RAM. In addition, other special editions are expected to be released, including a named model Mate 40 RS and a “Pro+", Which will differ mainly in terms of features and equipment of the camera.

Extremely powerful triple camera system with lenses from Leica


Speaking of cameras, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro has an extremely powerful suite of three cameras, which are optimized in conjunction with Leica. In addition, a new autofocus system is integrated, which combines laser autofocus with a new type of additional camera sensor, which also acts as a kind of autofocus assistant.

However, it is not yet clear exactly how this new system works, which will combine both optical and laser autofocus. In addition to the individual LED flash, there will also be a color temperature sensor, which will help the Mate 40 Pro reproduce realistic colors.

50 megapixel for main camera, and XNUMXD gesture control on the front


The three cameras of this large round unit that we see on the back of the device, will consist of a sensor in 50 MP with diaphragm F / 1,9 and optical image stabilization (OIS), a sensor in 20 MP for ultra-wide aperture shots F / 1.8 and one zoom meeting camera with a resolution of 12 MP and a maximum aperture size of F / 3.4.

Among other things, this camera system should be able to record 8K video and will offer 5x optical zoom.

Its version Huawei Mate 40 Pro intended for Europe will have a battery in 4400mAh. Huawei will provide the package with a new power charger SuperCharge which can be connected to the device via a port USB Type-C (3.1 Gen 1) and will provide maximum charging power up to 65 watts.
