The battle of folding smartphones started strong with the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, with the two companies choosing a different path to implement the idea.
Η Samsung opted for two screens, one on the outside and one on the inside that folds inwards, while Huawei chose a screen that folds on the outside.
Initially, however, Huawei had also considered Samsung's design. As revealed by the CEO of the company, Richard Yu, Huawei was working on at least three different designs at the same time and one of them was similar to that of the Galaxy Fold.
Eventually, they rejected it with a decision of his own because he found it bad, while he stated that the placement of two screens, one in front and one folding inside, inevitably leads to a lot of weight for the device.
What we all agree on is that no matter which design prevails in this category, they will have to find ways to significantly reduce the price if they really want to see a response from the consumer public.
