Huawei AppGallery: Will it be able to break the dominance of Apple and Google?

The CEO of Huawei, Richard Yu, analyzed the "vision" of the company for its creation AppGallery, a "homemade" store platform, modeled on Google's PlayStore and Apple App Store.

ΗHuawei presentation by Barcelona last Monday 24.2 included a storm of new devices with Mate xs, the news MateBook and MatePad Pro 5G to gather the spotlight on them.

However, despite the new super interesting devices, the CEO of Huawei Richard Yu reserved the best for the end, as it analyzed the "vision" of the Chinese giant of Mobile technology, which is nothing more than the creation of AppGallery, a "homemade" store platform, in its model Google PlayStore Mr.his Apple App Store.

In this way, Huawei tries to leave behind the rather "traumatic" history on multiple levels, with American government to ban cooperation between Huawei and Google but also other big companies from the world of technology.

So, AppGallery comes as a natural consequence, as since the solution could not come Huawei had to set the its own course, a course that is definitely not paved with rose petals, yet Huawei is probably the only company that has so many resources, as well as expertise to create one new attraction pole which will compete against Google and Apple.

Richard Yu in the presentation of the new products of the Chinese giant, referred to huge investment which Huawei has done, while it even plans to spend its astronomical amount $ 1 billion (yes, we are talking about crazy money), to be able to attract the most important develolpers to its own marketplace.

In this difficult and at the same time ambitious project is not alone, as it cooperates with all major manufacturing companies active in the field of mobile technology, with Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo to join its side.

Huawei puts all the weight into their development Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and AppGallery is essentially at the heart of this effort. According to the official data of the company, at the moment more Apps are entering AppGallery400.000 users on a monthly basis, placing it easily on 3η position behind the PlayStore and the App Store.

Of course, this can be considered a very good one start, but it is worth noting that in 2015 the PalyStore had one billion active users on a monthly basis, so as you can see Huawei has a real mountain to create an application platform that can look at Apple and Google equally.

Of course, as an old saying goes: "Rome was not built in a day", which is why Huawei's R&D team has rolled up its sleeves for good. The risk of a case analogous to Microsoft Store in Windows Phones is definitely the example to avoid and of course there is always the danger that the "vision" will turn into a megaton fiasco.

However, judging by Huawei's progress in the world of mobile technology so far where it has evolved from a medium-sized company to number 2 in the world, the Chinese company has all the conditions to achieve the Betting. With the well-known methodical, the careful design, The innovation and especially them inexhaustible Huawei's resources, it is possible that in about a year from now we will talk about a unique achievement that will break the domination of Apple and Google.

If there was one company that could do that it is only Huawei…
