Η HP is working to fix a problematic firmware update that has rendered them unusable Office Jet printers after its release earlier this month
As he says BleepingComputer, HP customers say their printers are showing blue screens with errors “83C0000B” on their built-in touchscreens.
HP said in BleepingComputer:
Due to the fact that the update is automatically installed on internet-connected printing devices, HP customers are also advised to disable their device's internet connection and wait for the upcoming HP firmware patch.
Affected models include printers:
- HP OfficeJet 902x
- HP Office Jet Pro 9022e
- HP Office Jet Pro 9025e
- HP OfficeJet Pro 9020eAll-in-One
- HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer.
As he notes BleepingComputer, customers have resorted to HP customer support issues to express their frustration.
“HP has no solution at this time. The hidden service menu does not appear and the printer no longer starts. Just a blue screen”, he says one client in one thread. Another one he adds:
Others complain that the only way to fix the firmware problem is to send the printer to HP for service and that “the firmware doesn't even partially load, it crashes immediately… HP is remotely bricking our devices!"
