Unbrick Xiaomi device with snapdragon 660 & 636 without edl authorized account
Ο guide describes the fastboot rom flashing process on the Redmi Note 5 AI (Whyred) with miflash, in edl mode and with modified files so that it does not require an edl authorized account, and you can see the full guide HERE !
So far it has been tested by @ geoanto555 on Redmi Note 5, Notes redmi 6 Pro , mipad4 successfully, whom we thank for the instructions.
Also to thank the user @XDimension for photos from miflash.
This wizard can be used when you try to flash your device in mode edl mode (QDLoader 9008) and miflash asks for you edl authorized account.
What we will need:
From the above guide we have to make the options 1 & 32. Miflash tool: MiFlash 2017.4.25.0 (the driver used the version 2017.4.25.0) 3. Official Fastboot Rom:
Pay close attention to which fastboot rom we will choose for our device, depending on the version of the device we have !!!
a. If our device is Global Version: Xiaomi Global Fastboot Rom
b. If our device is China Version: Xiaomi China Fastboot Rom4. The modified firehose_660-66X-636-63X files: firehose_660-66X-636-63X.zipIt would be good to put them all together in one folder so that we do not look for them later but also so that they do not get confused with other files that we may have on our computer.
File preparation:
For the fastboot rom, we may need to do uzip twice, as several times the fastboot rom has been downloaded as a TAR file.
When you first decompress it, it creates the TAR file and when you decompress the TAR file, its folder will be displayed. fastboot rom
We open her folder fastboot rom and find the files in the images folder:
prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf
prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.elf just in case right click> rename> and add with the suffix elf the
.old in both files to get this result:

Finally, we copy the entire file fastboot rom, directly to hard drive:
And here the difficulties begin, there are two cases, to have a locked bootloader or if we have provided to have an unlocked bootloader.
Unlocked bootloader with access to fastboot mode:
- In case we have an unlocked bootloader, we enter fastboot mode
- Connect the mobile to the computer on a usb port 2
- We open the ADB Command Prompt window as administrators
- We type the command
fastboot oem edl - We look at the device management of the computer to see if it recognized it in the COM ports as QDLoader 9008 (COM **)
Locked bootloader with access to our device settings:
ATTENTION: The following method may work but it may not work… in case it does not work, the procedure must be done with the method of TEST POINT
- Go to settings> about the phone
- Press 7-8 times in a row on the MIUI version to activate the options for developers
- Go to settings> additional settings> developer options> enable:
- OEM unlock
- Detection of usb errors
- Connect the mobile to the computer on a usb port 2
- We open the ADB Command Prompt window as administrators
- We type the command
adb devices - We look at the screen of the mobile and accept the secure connection to the computer
- We type the command
adb reboot edl - We look at the device management of the computer to see if it recognized it in the COM ports as QDLoader 9008 (COM **)
ATTENTION: The above method may work but it may not work… in case it does not work, the process must be done with the method of TEST POINT
Locked or unlocked bootloader without access to our device settings or fastboot mode:
Unfortunately it's the worst case scenario that can happen to our device, at the moment there is no other way but to try:
- With a special cable lest it turn into QDLoader 9008 -> deep flash cable
- If it does not necessarily work we must follow the method of -> TEST POINT

If all goes well, our device should be recognized in device management as follows:
(COM port number is random… do not get stuck because it will not come out as COM10, as long as you see it as in the photo)
We were now ready to flash it fastboot rom...
We run the miflash that we have installed at the beginning of the driver.
The initial screen we will see will be this:
The first move we make is to select clean all at the bottom right instead of the clean all and lock it has
Then go to the select button in order to select its folder fastboot rom that we put directly on the C: \ hard drive
After selecting its folder fastboot rom, we will see this in miflash
Then we press the refresh button so that miflash recognizes our mobile that is on edl mode
If everything is correct, we were ready to press the flash button to start the process, now we are waiting for it to be completed showing success
That was it, we're done !!!
We press and hold the power button until our phone restarts and wait for it to open to make our settings.

REMARKS
1. In case the miflash shows an error, in the first seconds after we click on the flash, check that you have indeed copied the two modified firehose files, even if you are sure to make another copy-paste of the two files
