Pixel 4: Google announces some of its upcoming features.

Η Google decided once again to become the pioneer of leaks for Pixel 4, and announce any of its upcoming features.

ΈOne of these new features is Motion Sense, which is based on Salt, a program launched by Google four years ago. The Motion Sense lets you control the basic features of the Pixel 4, such as bypassing songs, snoozing alarms, and turning off phone calls by simply shaking hands.

The Motion Sense operates with the help of a complex scanning system mounted above the screen, which can detect even the slightest movement. So far this system is limited to recognizing simple gestures, but can be configured to do more complex things in the future. However, Google says Motion Sense will only be available in select countries where Pixel is available.

The other important feature announced today for Pixel 4 is Face unlock. This will not look like the simple face recognition we see today on third-party Android Smartphone devices. This new system will be closer to what the Apple, to iPhone X in terms of complexity, and especially the security it will provide.

While current Android face recognition systems only take a picture of your face, the face unlock in Pixel 4 will scan a 3D map of your face using a spotlight and one IR camera, and will then use this information to unlock. That way you will it is much safer to unlock as it is much less likely to be misled by a simple photo.

The system is almost identical to the hardware we've seen on Apple iOS in terms of hardware, and Google also says it will securely store face data on Titan M chip, so that no one has access to it.

While the iOS requires you to do Swipe up once the face scan is complete to unlock the device, the face unlock on the Pixel 4 will feel your hand move towards the phone with the help of its scanner Salt, and then it will automatically activate its special circuit Face Unlock, and as soon as it detects your face it will automatically unlock the phone as you hold it in your hands, taking you directly to the home screen or the application you were running when your device was automatically locked.

Google's system will also work in any orientation of the device, even if it is facing upside down with the camera facing down.

We're still not sure if Google will continue to include a fingerprint sensor in the device alongside the face unlock or if Apple will do the same. However, if we had to bet, we would say that Google can go exclusively to the face unlock function, and completely stop having a fingerprint sensor in the next Pixel 4.

Google says the Pixel 4 will be released later this year, and has not yet given us an indication of when this will happen. However, if we take into account that she started sharing information on the internet in the form of leaks, then we should not be too far away.
