The fine of 250.000 euros against GF Electronics for fraud against consumers was finally dropped.
Μafter submitting a number of consumer complaints against the online store «GF ELECTRONICS SOLE SHAREHOLDER PRIVATE CAPITAL COMPANY» for violations of consumer protection legislation, the Directorate-General for Consumer Protection of the General Secretariatlimit and Consumer Protection, after examining the relevant cases, imposed money on the company in question total fine 250.000 euro for the adoption of unfair commercial practices in the remote sale of high-tech products, in particular mobile telephony, as the company did not deliver the products or reimburse the amounts paid to consumers, as provided by the relevant legislation.
Η Secretariat of Commerce and Consumer Protection recommends to citizens be especially careful when making online purchases and in case they detect unfair commercial practices when trading with online stores, to inform accordingly the General Directorate of Consumer Protection at consumer line 1520, for consideration of possible imposition of sanctions.
