ELTA: They announced emergency measures - how they affect parcel shipments

The Greek Post proceeded to the announcement emergency measures to protect employees and their customers.

ΤThese measures are in addition to those already taken and announced as of Friday 13 March 2020, and are in the form of a press release.

Specifically - The new measures are as follows…

• The entrance of the customers in the postal shops will be partial, depending on the square meters of the space (one customer every 10sqm) with a maximum number of waiting customers, 3 people. The rest of the customers will have to wait their turn outside the store.
• Deliveries of registered, small packages and parcels, cash on delivery, payments of pensions and allowances and all transactions with the postmen and distributors of the ELTA group will be made at the entrance of the recipient's building (residential or business), in an open space, observing the necessary distance of one meter, while the means (pen) of the customer will be used for the signature.

We remind you that in order to facilitate their customers to avoid their travels, Hellenic Post has extended the time of stay of unpaid postal items (registered letters and parcels) in the post offices, until later.

In addition, disinfection has already started, by specialized workshops in all stores and workplaces, while the fleet of vehicles will be gradually disinfected.

Due to the special circumstances arising from the pandemic, the Hellenic Post Office requests the understanding of its customers for cases of delays in the postal service and extraordinary changes in the hours and operation of some stores..

As we understand from the above, the distribution - shipment and distribution of parcels throughout the country continues normally. There is no delay in the movement of parcels coming from abroad, such as from China for example, but of course due to the special conditions faced by all countries worldwide (including Greece) due to the coronavirus pandemic, we will there may be delays in completing shipments and receipts.
