Η Its plenary session EETT approved today the publication of the tender notice, on the basis of which the tender procedure for the granting of radio frequency use rights in the zones will be carried out 700 MHz, 2 GHz, 3400-3800 MHz and 26 GHz with a view to developing mobile communications networks 5th generation (5G)
The process has been finalized following the completion of the public consultation, and is fully compatible with the current European regulatory framework. The procedure followed ensures the competition in the Greek market, as well as the access of the providers to the range of radio frequencies they need, in order to invest in networks and mobile communication services.
The bidding process for all frequency segments will be carried out through a multi-round auction with increasing price and use of special software developed for this purpose by EETT.
It is pointed out that the development of 5th generation networks is expected to make a decisive contribution to the upgrading of telecommunication services to the consumer and the improvement of business competitiveness, as well as will offer the possibility of significantly higher speeds and extremely lower response time, allowing the development of new, innovative applications. .
The utilization of the 5th generation networks is estimated to radically change the daily life, accelerating the digital transformation, while at the same time it will offer significant benefits to the economy.
The next step in the bidding process is the submission of applications, which is set for 23 October 2020 Preparation and time 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.. The notice leaflet, which describes in detail the rules and stages of the procedure, is available on its website EETT (http://www.eett.gr).
