eett_logo.jpg Its ever-increasing course broadband market in Greece reflected in the report published by EETT for the second half of 2020.
ΤThe data presented in the report show an increase in broadband connections, access lines to New Generation Networks (NGA) and the number of active mobile broadband subscribers, as well as an increase in the percentage of high and ultra-high speed lines.
1. Increase broadband connections
Broadband at the end of 2020 amounted to 4.270.473, recording an annual increase of 4%, while broadband penetration in the population amounted to 39,8% compared to 38,1% at the end of 2019.
2. Increase access lines to NGA networks
NGA network access lines amounted to 472.613 compared to 323.917 in June and 195.427 at the end of 2019. Their share of all broadband lines increased, reaching 11,07% compared to 7,71% in June 2020 and 4,76 % at the end of 2019.
3. Increase in the percentage of high and ultra-high speed lines
There is a significant increase in the percentage of high-speed lines (from 30 Mbps to 100 Mbps), which now account for 32,8% of the country's broadband lines (compared to 25,7% at the end of 2019), while the lines exceed high speeds (from 100 Mbps and above), constitute 5,8% of the country's broadband lines compared to 1,8% at the end of 2019.
4. Increase in the number of active mobile broadband subscribers
Active mobile subscribers who used Internet data services at the end of 2020 exceeded 9,2 million (compared to 9,1 million at the end of 2019) recording a population penetration of 86%.
