Unimaginable 1Gbps speeds they are coming for the first time in COSMOTE Fiber, the country's largest fiber optic network
H COSMOTE revolutionizes the stable internet, as it intends to make it available commercially, from mid-September, following the relevant approval from the EETT, speeds 300Mbps, 500Mbps and 1Gbps, to residential and corporate customers, via fiber-to-the-home infrastructure (Fiber to the Home).
O Chief Officer of Technology & Operations of OTE Group, Mr. Stefanos Theocharopoulos, stated in this regard:
This decision is expected to contribute decisively to the improvement of the country's position in the European and international indices, to the strengthening of competitiveness, and to the improvement of the daily life of homes and businesses. It is another decisive step to bring Greece closer to the Gigabit Society.
The new COSMOTE Fiber speeds of 300Mbps, 500Mbps and 1Gbps through optical fiber to the home, which will enrich their existing portfolio 100 and 200Mbps, will be commercially available after their approval by EETT. The goal is commercial availability on 15 Σεπτεμβρίου. By the end of the year, almost 1 million homes and businesses will have access to 1 Gbps, while by 2027 they will reach 3 million.
