Those who are involved in gaming, either as players or as companies active in this field, are waiting with great interest for its presentation Google at GDC 2019.
Η company is expected to reveal in detail on March 19 the game streaming subscription service which for the time being has a code name Project Stream, but also gaming hardware (eg its own remote control).
Apart from that, the rumor has been circulating for a few hours now that support for Nintendo Switch remote controls in the Chrome browser will be added soon! The discovery was made from the website ChromeUnboxed in Chromium code, where there are commits to add Nintendo Switch remote controls via Bluetooth or USB. The available remote controls are Switch Pro (USB & Bluetooth), Joy-Con L&R (Bluetooth) and Charging Grip (USB).
Specifically, the Chromium committees state the following:
"The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller can be paired via Bluetooth and used as standard gamepad in operating systems for desktops (e.g. Windows, macOS). It is currently not possible to use it due to errors in the D-pad mapping and analog sticks, but the necessary corrections will be made soon in the Chrome browser. ”
The support of game controllers in general by Chrome browser is particularly important for the success of a game streaming service that will be accessible through it. Consider, for example, the ability to gaming through the web browser from any computer, but the operating system does not support the remote control (not at all unlikely if we are talking about macOS).
Therefore, if the support of gaming controllers is clearly done by the web browser, then Google will offer a complete package to the end user and the latter will simply have to worry about the quality and speed of his Internet connection.
