H Activision confirmed its existence Call of Duty Warzone battle royale and is released today, 10 March, as free-to-play download on all platforms!
TWarzone is the largest project Activision has ever implemented. This is a battle royale game with possibility of participation of 150 players per session who will be able to gain distinctive elements of differentiation.
The game will support complete cross-play between consoles and PC, something that will allow F2P players to play directly with Modern Warfare owners. Warzone will launch on March 10 at 8 a.m. PST for Modern Warfare owners and 12 midnight for everyone else.
Warzone is coming to two versions: One separate download and one mode added to the already installed MW. That is, you will not need to buy MW to play Warzone. In this case, the download will be 80-100GB, while for MW owners it will be 18-22GB.
The information provided by Activision is as follows:
- F2P version is 80-100GB, unlocks on March 10 at 12PM PST
- MW version is 15-22GB, goes live March 10 at 8AM PST
- 150 player
- 50 x 3-team squads
- Cross-play between PC and consoles
- Unified progression
- Creeping gas shrinks map over time
- Plunder mode is all about collecting cash by defeating enemies and completing mini-objective Contracts
- 5 vehicles including helicopters and ATVs
- In-game stations will sell Killstreaks, Redeploy Tokens to bring back fallen teammates, Self-Revive Kits, and more
The battle royale will be squad-based at the start of the game. 50 teams of three players will fight in a test of luck, skills and resource management for victory.
The Warzone track is called "verdansk”And has over 300 points of interest. There is also a mechanism "ring of fireWhich slowly closes and narrows the areas of the map, pushing the players to get closer and closer to each other, until the final dominance of a team.
Warzone will have -in the beginning- a unique mode called "Plunder“. Plunder focuses on raising money by players, who will have to explore the map for spoils, yes earn money by defeating opponents and accomplish specific objectives to be assigned. Throughout the game, players will be the same targets for the money they will have, as opponents will try to complete contracts.
It is about a endless battle which will turn the game into as chaotic as possible before the winning team is announced.
The vehicles that will be available are the following:
- ATV - two seater, provides minimal protection, good at offroading, fast.
- Tactical Rover - four seater, provides minimal protection, solidly fast, solid at off-roading.
- SUV - four seater, provides good protection, medium speed, not ideal for off-roading.
- Cargo Truck - holds the squad plus equipment, excellent protection, not for off-roading, slowest.
- Helicopter - four seater, decent coverage, flies.
The cross-play will be accompanied by Activision integrated system, which transports player progress to and from F2P Warzone and MW multiplayer. Whatever players gain, achievements, unlocks, etc. are stored in the cloud and are accessible regardless of the platform on which one is playing the game.
