Η Apple, started its sales iPhone XR assembled and manufactured in India since its installation Foxconn in Chennai.
Αand is a little behind schedule, as the first sales should have already started by the end of August, better late than never though.
The price of the Smartphone was initially announced at 77.000 INR last year (~ €976), but has now been reduced to INR 50.000 (~ €634). OR Amazon India now offers an additional 10% discount on the original price, so the price of the 64GB model is set at INR 45.000 (~ €570).
An iPhone XR made in India
There is good reason why Foxconn is preparing to produce its models iPhone XS at its plant in Chennai. This will allow Apple to sell the 2018 flagship in India without paying the stringent import taxes in the country.
Apple could also start importing large quantities of it iPhone XR from India to USA (where XR is still available while XS models stopped). This will help Apple avoid additional tariffs due to the trade war between the US and China.
