The biggest change in the new iPhones is of course the removing the Lightning port, which the company introduced in 2012 with the iPhone 5. Like last year, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus include displays 6,1 and 6,7 inches, respectively. The big change this year is that the notch is gone and replaced by the so-called DynamicIsland, which Apple first brought to the iPhone 14 Pro series last year.
Another big change in the screen this year is that it is brighter than ever with the maximum brightness to reaches 2.000 nits, while playing video HDR it reaches them 1.600 nits.
The camera gets some notable upgrades. There are only two distinct camera lenses and the phone now has the same one 48mp sensor which Apple first introduced in last year's iPhone 14 Pro. Of course, it still has a wide-angle lens. There is also a new one portrait mode which automatically activates when it sees you focus on a person or pet.
Not surprisingly, the iPhone 15 uses the chip A16 Bionic, while there's a new ultra-wideband chip, the same as the one reported in the Apple Watch Series 9. This makes it easier to find friends or devices when you're near them. You'll get an indication of which direction to head and how far you are. The existing one SOS service Apple's is expanding to work with AAA road service as well.
As Apple did with the Apple Watch, the new iPhone cases will not use leather. Instead they use Apple's FineWoven fabric. As usual, the iPhone 15 comes in five colors: black, light blue, mint green, light yellow and pink.
Pricing remains unchanged from last year: The iPhone 15 will cost $ 799 and the 15 Plus will cost $ 899 both with 128GB of storage.
