If a movie director wants a character to use an iPhone or Mac, it can not be bad.
Μin a statement, the film director Rian Johnson confirmed that there are some very strict rules regarding the use of Apple products on the screen.
As he says MacRumors, Johnson made a video for Vanity Fair this week, where he explains to viewers a scene from his movie, Knives Out. It's a great video for those interested in the composition of the scene, but Johnson also reveals how serious Apple is about protecting its brand.
At the risk of ruining any movie where viewers try to guess who the bad guy is, Johnson revealed that, "the bad guys can't have iPhones on camera." It's one of the strict rules that directors must agree to if they want to use any of the Apple devices on the screen. Apparently something similar happened in the long series 24 where the good ones used Macs.
Apple was the strongest brand in the world in 2019, according to Business Insider, with a value of 234,2 million dollars. It makes sense for Apple to invest time, resources and staff to ensure that its brand is used only and presented for positive purposes.
However, not allowing bad guys to use iPhone in a movie seems like an exaggeration and we want to see the bad guys with the best smartphone in their hands.
Now we hope this information is not really a spoil for any movie shot in the future.
In other news from Apple, there are rumors that a Mac computer with a new custom processor is expected, while we are probably expected to see the first over-the-ear AirPods coming out soon.
