A new fraud on smartphones through public chargers has been revealed

Η Los Angeles Public Prosecutor's Office warns users smartphones to be careful where they charge their mobile phones, as a “fraud with USB chargers".


Η  fraud, called "fraudjuice jacking", Includes the installation of malware on charging stations or cables that have been deliberately plugged into these outlets. Malware can install and lock the phone that will be connected to these charging stations or even worse, there is the possibility of data theft and security codes being stolen from users' phones.

The warning refers to charging stations at airports, hotels and other locations in Los Angeles. For users who prefer to be more careful, it is more appropriate to use a powerbank.
