Η Xiaomi greatly annoyed with her leak of Leica's camera app, and filed a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement

Όas it is known, the Xiaomi just yesterday he announced his new series Xiaomi 12S, whose devices feature camera lenses from Leica, but also a special one modified camera app from Leica.

So, since yesterday this camera app of hers Leica uploaded to his website CoolAPK in China by leaking the app and making it available without its consent Xiaomi but also her Leica.

It is even said that a member of his community "website CoolAPK ” went to one Mi Store and "copied” the Leica camera app from Xiaomi 12S series . You'd expect this modified camera app to not work on other devices, but unfortunately Xiaomi hasn't added any restriction within the app's code to prevent it from being used on other Xiaomi Smartphones.

This resulted in Leica's camera app being able to be used on various Xiaomi devices, including those with cameras that have not been improved by Leica .

After this very serious development, Xiaomi submitted a new update version of the code on Google's AOSP, adding a new policy in SELinux that prevents the user from making use of the data in the APK files of the application.

The good news is that Google it is unlikely to add this update that Xiaomi filed on AOSP codes her.

If you don't know what the CoolAPK , is basically a Chinese alternative to APKMirror and there are hundreds of thousands of APKs that you can find on this site. GetApps is a special app market app that is currently available on all Xiaomi phones released in China.

China has strict restrictions on foreign companies and Google is one of them. So some Chinese phones can't use anything from Google, including the Google Play Store, and CoolAPK was an alternative proposal for her app market in China, which was present on “GetApps” by Xiaomi.

As you can see from the screenshot above, the CoolAPK no longer exists in Xiaomi's app market (GetApps). Xiaomi is pretty strict about leaking Leica's camera app. Not only does it expressly forbid the use of Leica's leaked camera app, but they removed CoolAPK from their app store. As we explained earlier, it is an app market that includes many different APK files.

Xiaomi's file leak is costing the company a lot of money and Xiaomi has already started working with the police to find the root cause of this leak and then proceed to sue the people responsible.

So what do you guys think about this leaked Leica camera app? Let us know what you think in the comments.
