So, it brought us a 108MP camera with the Mi Note 10, introduced us to some great Mi 9 series Smartphones, but stumbled in some series like Mi Mix and Mi A. series let’s take a closer look at what went well for the company, and what could have gone better.

Winner - Mi 9 Series

Xiaomi's flagship MI series had to present to us this year a total of eight variants of the Mi 9 series, and most of them became very commercially successful, combining rich features and low prices.

Starting with Mi 9, h Xiaomi released its first Smartphone with the Snapdragon 855, which offered a price slightly higher than the corresponding mid-range devices, resulting in great commercial success in relation to the respective proposals of its competitors.

The I 9T and Mi 9T Pro (also known as K20 / K20 Pro), is undoubtedly the best choice in the middle class, as they offer top performance and good cameras, packed in a flawless design, making it the best choice for the money they are asking for.

There is also the Mi 9 SE, the which was an enjoyable experience, providing most of the features the Mi 9 has, with a less powerful chipset and a smaller battery.

It was released in the same spirit Mi 9X, the which was essentially a stripped down version of the Mi 9, as well as the Mi 9 Explorer which by design was at the other end of the spectrum with capacity up to 128GB of RAM.

We must also include We 9 Pro and Mi 9 Pro 5G, τα which were quite small upgrades to the Mi 9 model, but they also contributed to the excellent sales and international recognition of the Mi 9 series.

Lost - Mi Mix Alpha

Xiaomi Mi Mix series has always been a company approach to introduce us to some innovative designs, but the Mi Mix Alpha seems to have surpassed all limits of imagination with its peculiar design. It just does not make practical sense to have a device that is essentially a screen when the foldable Smartphones are already here.

In addition, there is a great deal of concern about the durability of the device, as an unintentional drop will definitely result in damage to the screen, regardless of which part of the phone will receive a strong impact from the device falling to the floor for example.

Without saying much about the price of $ 2.800 / € 2.500 it asks for, as it is a Consept Smartphone in a sense, we do not see the need for such a device, which is indeed very innovative and impressive in design, but practically and commercially has no place to present in the market.

Winner - Mi Note 10

Smartphone cameras are getting better and better, and just before the end of 2019, the My Notes 10 is undoubtedly the Smartphone with the best camera from Xiaomi. In addition to introducing the first 108MP sensor in a Smartphone, the overall combination of the five cameras that the device has, makes it one of the best currently on the market, presenting very good performance in all areas of photography and of Video.

Let's not forget that until recently, it was at the top of the DxoMark rankings along with Huawei Mate 30 Pro, and this did not happen by accident.

And the 5,260 mAh battery with fast charging at 30 W, is another trump card of the device, but there are some compromises. One of the disadvantages of the device is the chipset, as Xiaomi chose to equip it with the Snapdragon 730, which belongs to the middle class.

Of course with the $ 500 price tag of the device, it is understandable why it does not have a flagship SoC. But as a whole package, the Mi Note 10 brought a lot of innovations and powerful features especially to the cameras, which no other manufacturer has achieved so far in such a price range, and this is one of the trump cards that will allow the device to experience commercial success. .

Lost - Mi A3

Xiaomi's Mi A series dates back to 2017, and offered devices with genuine Android operating system in an affordable package. With the We are A3, Xiaomi, however, made compromises on features, which eventually became the reason for not experiencing market acceptance in terms of sales of the device so far.

The big compromise is coming to the screen, and no matter how we do it, a 720p PenTile display in 2019 is no longer acceptable for a mid-range device. We'd rather see a Full HD (1080p) screen, and remove the fingerprint reader below the screen. The screen resolution under the sunlight is below average, but the sound performance offered by the device is much worse than we expected.

In general, the Mi A3 does not manage to continue the good tradition achieved by its predecessors, and is one of the burnt papers of the company - something that can be seen from the sales it has made so far.

Winner - Wearables / Smart Bands

Xiaomi is more than just a smartphone maker, and sales of its Wearable devices have grown significantly in recent years.

2019 was a very successful year for Xiaomi in the Smart Band category, as the company dominated sales internationally, gaining the largest market share worldwide.

It is easy to understand why the Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 conquered the international markets, as they are cheap, reliable and offer a variety of features that are difficult to find at the price they have.
